After Show Talk - Sivert Hoyem (Paradise)
Monday 4 December 2017
Just a few days after Paradise were introduced to the Greek audience and just as promised, FeelA RockA team is very happy to share a really nice after-show talk we had at Principal Club with Sivert Høyem. The voice of Paradise was more than kind to us so we left the venue with a big smile and the thought that music really unites and makes people happy.
Sivert, Welcome back again to Greece and Thessaloniki! We are really glad that you are here tonight!
Thank you! Me too!
Well, after following a solo career the previous years, did you ever think that creating Paradise and introducing them to the Greek audience, was more of a risk?
I don’t know. Nothing that’s worth doing is risk-free, I think. If you only do safe things, life is going to be very boring and it’s not like I am not doing my other stuff. It’s only that now I am doing this thing too (Paradise). People can come and see both or they can come and see either one.
Right! Tonight we heard all four songs from Yellow (EP). Can you tell us a few things about the other songs that were included in the setlist?
They are all songs that me and Rob McVey (guitarist) mostly have written over the last year and a half and it is material we are trying out for the album that we will be recording in the spring. So, there is not really much to say about it at this point. We are still writing and these are our latest songs, the ones that we feel confident enough to present to people.
So, some of them are going to be in the album?
Most of them are going to be in the album, some of them aren’t. We still have some great ideas that we haven’t really finished yet.
You have made a video for Goodbye 21st Century. Is there another video going to be released before the album or not?
Yes! There is a video that we have been shooting on the road, for a month now actually. For Humiliation. That is going to be the next single.
Part of an artist’s career is being in the studio, writing and recording. Another part is touring. Which one liberates you more?
Both have their “thing”! There is the other part that is writing the songs like before you get to the studio. I guess I speak for a lot of artists when I say that maybe, being in the studio isn’t their favorite thing. I really like writing songs and rehearsing and finding out what I want to do. All these possibilities in your head when you do that! That’s wonderful. That’s very liberating. And I also like being on the road. I enjoy that more and more. I really like touring. I like being in front of people singing.
And finally… Do you have a message for your Greek fans who came to see you once again?
I love you guys! And I’ll be back playing my own stuff but I’ll be back with Paradise as well. I am just really happy that we were received so well here in Greece. I am really proud of that! I am proud of you guys!
We are proud of you too! Thank you very much for this talk and good luck with the rest of the tour.
Oh! Thank you very much!
