After Show Talk - Julius Son (JJ-Kaleo)
Τετάρτη 27 Δεκεμβρίου 2017
On Saturday 16th December, KALEO’s Express Tour came to an end with their last show in Thessaloniki at Principal Club. The venue was full of fans who came to support the band and sing out loud with them. It was an amazing show that we will definitely remember for a long time. After the end of the show, the team of FeelA RockA met Julius Son (KALEO’s frontman) and we had an interesting talk which we are very happy to share with you.
Welcome here to Thessaloniki and Greece, JJ. Thank you for the great performance tonight.
How was the Greek vibe for you and what did you expect?
We didn’t really know what to expect in Greece. It’s amazing to see the support. We kind of knew we had support here but I’ve been here many times before just on vacations so it was really fun for me to come and play and get the reaction and support for the band. We had a great show yesterday in Athens but this was, you know, just as good or even better. It was fantastic. Great ending for the tour.
So, this was the last show of the tour. What’s next? Are you going to take a break or do you have other plans?
Well, Christmas is coming up! Then, next year I will get some time in the studio and make new music.
Part of an artist’s career is writing music and another part is touring. Which liberates you more?
Writing music. That is what I do. That is what I live for. It’s always fun to perform as well especially when you come to a new place and you get to play your music for people that already know your songs and they sing along, that is very special.
You have a lot of influences in your music, but what triggers your inspiration? Is it personal experiences or the world?
Both! You know, personal experiences and little things that I take from a lot of things or kinds of music. I like a lot of different music and I think the songs that I make are different. Some of the songs are about personal experiences and others are about something else. So, I take a little bit of everything and I mix it together.
Do you have specific messages to convey through your music?
Not really. I hope that it kind of speaks to everyone, no matter what age, gender, sexuality or whatever it is. I hope it speaks to them and if it moves them that is a wonderful thing.
One last question. You mentioned that you are going to come back here. Do you have such a plan?
You know, we definitely want to come back. It’s been a great week for us, we had a few days off in Athens as well. Obviously, it’s beautiful and the people are great so I can’t wait to be back.
Thank you very much.
